July 30 2023 The Santa Fe Fuego defeated the Blackwell Flycatchers 19-3, building an early lead with four runs in the first inning and four more in the second. Santa Fe added one run in the third, four in the fourth and six in the fifth to take control. The Fuego finished with 22 hits and no errors while Blackwell had eight hits and no errors.
Parker DePasquale led Santa Fe with two hits, five runs and four RBI, including two home runs. Brian Cantu went 3-for-4 with four runs and three RBI, while Jordan Izzo homered and drove in four runs. Rafael Ramirez and Arthur Quinones each added two RBI, and Shimon Kozamawa and Brian Aguilar collected three hits apiece. Blackwells Taylor Perret hit a home run and had two RBI, while Manuel Chavez also drove in two runs.
Izzo earned the win after allowing five hits and three earned runs over six innings while striking out 10 and walking two. Marty Carnahan, Shimon Kozamawa and Zach Hill combined for three scoreless innings of relief, with Hill striking out three in the ninth. Blackwell starter Taylor Perret was charged with the loss after allowing four runs in one inning.
