June 6 2024 The Blackwell Flycatchers defeated the North Platte 80s 14-10 after building an early lead and holding off a late threat. Blackwell collected 17 hits and scored five runs in the first inning, two in the second, three in the fourth, three in the seventh and one in the eighth. North Platte finished with 10 hits and scored twice in the second and third innings before adding four runs in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Markus Bracey went 3-for-6 with three runs and two RBIs for Blackwell, while C. Pfafman added three hits and four RBIs. Ty Andrews also had three hits, and J. Dice and R. Salinas each collected two hits and scored twice. Blackwell stole eight bases, including two each by Dice, Salinas and Andrews.
North Platte was led by T. Nelson, who went 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. A. Dameron had two hits and drove in three runs, while T. Bond contributed two hits and scored once. North Platte committed six errors compared with five for Blackwell.
Matt Rones earned the win for Blackwell with three scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out two. M. Bataska worked five innings and allowed eight runs, four earned, on seven hits with four walks and four strikeouts. North Platte starter T. Nelson allowed 13 runs, 12 earned, on 16 hits in seven innings, while Dan Clark took the loss after allowing one run in one inning.
