Flycatchers Rally Past North Platte 80s 7-4

June 8 2024 The Blackwell Flycatchers rallied for five runs in the ninth inning to defeat the North Platte 80s 7-4 at Bill Wood Field. Blackwell scored once in the first, added a run in the eighth and broke open a 4-2 game with its decisive ninth-inning outburst. North Platte scored twice in both the second and third innings but was held scoreless thereafter.

J. Dice went 2-for-2 with three walks and scored twice for Blackwell. Jack Skantze added two hits and two RBI, while Markus Bracey and Ty Andrews each collected two hits and drove in a run. The Flycatchers finished with eight hits and nine walks.

Marty Carnahan earned the win after allowing three hits and four runs, three earned, in eight innings while striking out 10 and walking four. Kaden Kneip worked a scoreless ninth for the save, allowing one hit with two strikeouts and two walks. North Platte starter Seth Christiansen allowed one earned run on six hits in six innings, but Justin Stewart took the loss after issuing five walks and surrendering five runs in the ninth.
