Blackwell Flycatchers Outlast Trinidad Triggers 7-5

June 21 2024 The Blackwell Flycatchers defeated the Trinidad Triggers 7-5 in 11 innings. Blackwell overcame a three-run first inning by Trinidad and scored twice in the 11th to secure the victory. The Flycatchers finished with six hits while the Triggers collected 10. J. Dice powered Blackwell’s offense with two home runs, two hits, two runs and five RBI. D. Martinez added a hit, two runs and one RBI, while T. Andrews contributed a double. Trinidad’s J. Smith had a four-hit performance with two home runs, three runs and two RBI. H. Maldonado added two hits, one run, a home run and three RBI. Blackwell scored two runs in the third, one in the fourth and two in the sixth to take a 5-4 lead. Trinidad tied the game with a run in the ninth before the Flycatchers produced the deciding two-run 11th. M. Carnahan held Trinidad to two earned runs on seven hits over eight innings while striking out 14, and Kaden Kneip earned the win with two scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out five. Aleiman Cruz was charged with the loss after allowing two runs in the 11th.
