June 10 2025 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Blackwell Flycatchers 9-6 at Kokernot Field, scoring seven runs over the first two innings and adding insurance runs in the fifth and eighth. Alpine outhit Blackwell 15-7, and both teams committed no errors.
Josh Rego led Alpine’s offense with four hits in five at-bats, two runs and two RBIs. James Prockish added three hits, while Tyler Young went 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI. William Glick and Sean Becker each collected two hits, with Glick driving in a run and Becker scoring once and contributing an RBI. Blackwell was led by Joseph Boone, who had two hits and two RBIs, and Dawson Wedeking, who scored twice, drove in a run and drew two walks.
Jesse Garcia earned the win for Alpine after allowing six runs, five earned, on six hits in five innings while striking out four. Dieterich Guertzgen followed with three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out one, and Jean Reyes worked a scoreless ninth for the save. Blackwell’s Mateo Ferguson took the loss despite allowing one earned run in four innings; Glenn Simes pitched two innings in relief and struck out five.
