Trailing Blackwell 4-0 going into the bottom of the fourth, North Platte posted five runs that inning and a resounding 11 counters in the fifth en route to a 20-9 home win Wednesday their playoff opener at Bill Wood Field. Rico Rileys grand slam highlighted the pivotal fifth, which saw the 80s send 15 batters to the plate against four Flycatcher pitchers. Ian Santos also clubbed a three-run homer for North Platte as starting pitcher Joe Barrons got the win. Mark Davis had three of Blackwells 10 hits while Rey Lozano singled twice and scored three runs.

The Flycatchers finished with eight hits and no errors while Kansas City had 10 hits and three errors.

Jack Skantze led Blackwell with two home runs and five RBI. Rey Lozano scored four runs and drove in one, while Mark Davis scored twice and stole three bases.
